OUR PHILOSoPHY

We believe children learn best through play. We offer a programme based on the New Zealand early childhood curriculum Te Whāriki that includes all curriculum areas, with particular emphasis on the arts. Included in our programme is a solid foundation for early literacy and numeracy.

We offer a balance between child and teacher initiated activities and experiences. We value children's curiosity, enthusiasm for learning and sense of fun. We also believe that children are being prepared for life - not just for school.

We recognise the importance of an experienced, professional and dedicated team of teachers committed to your child's learning. Enthusiastic staff embrace all aspects of the arts (drama, dance, visual arts and music).

We believe that as a small centre is best for children. The group size is limited to 27 children. We value the reciprocal partnership that develops with your child and family.

We value the differences that each child and family brings to our centre and we work alongside the families and whanau to support individual children in their development.

At Little Dinosaurs we recognise that the environment is a critical factor in children's learning. We work hard to provide learning spaces that are challenging and aesthetic. We acknowledge that it is the right of every child in New Zealand to experience the dual cultural heritage of the partners to the Treaty of Waitangi.
